In this post, Lorcan comes back to an issue he has called the Recominant Web. I'm not certain I know what that would look like, but I agree with him in assertion that libraries need to begin thinking about how the information we collect and manage can be made available in such ways to be combined with other information. The library ceases to be the primary place to come for information and becomes an essential information provider.

This really radically alters the classic model for how libraries have functioned, but perhaps does not divert us from our purpose.
